Ah, Liverpool! The Pool of Life, the Pool of Talent, The World in One City and also the place where John, Paul, George and Ringo were born. The north west waterfront of England is somewhat far away from the sight of the average tourists. Seriously, you may ask, what are the interesting things to do in Liverpool, including visiting the Beatles Story museum and, of course, watching the Merseyside Derby – even if you're not a bloodswor fan, just to hear the fans singing “You 'll Never Walk Alone. ” So, what is there to do in Liverpool?

Tourism has always been a major factor in Liverpool's economy. The city offers architectural splendor with numerous monumental landmarks and rich cultural live – art galleries, museums and others places of interest. The intense weight of Beatles as one of the most influential groups in the history of rock music is what makes Liverpool a city with a cult status among the rock fans worldwide. You can easily explore the landmarks and use the unusual opportunities for entertainment, as the Pool of Life offers convenience in terms of mass transit. After all, the city pioneered the first railway tunnels, the transatlantic steamship transportation, municipal trams, electric trains, passenger helicopter service and more. You will have quick access to the main points of interest in the city. So where to start?

Discover the Grandeur of the Historical Buildings in Liverpool

The architecture of Liverpool clearly shows how a small medieval parish can turn into a bustling industrial city thanks to the Industrial Revolution. The architectural styles in the city mirror this rapid development: the few remaining timber framed Tudor mansions, like the Speke Hall manor house, are the oldest landmarks, followed by Georgian public buildings, imposing neo classical edifices and Victorian architecture. From the late-18th century onwards, the city evolved into the second economy hub (after London) in Great Britain. As a result, Liverpool was declared England's finest Victorian city by English Heritage. The listed buildings here are thousands. 27 of them are Grade and 85 are listed as Grade II. The number of sculptures surpasses any other city in the UK except the City of Westminster. Same applies for the concentration of Georgian houses. Because of the city's influence on the development of the international maritime trade and docking technology, the historical harbor sites of Liverpool are declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are also collectively known as the Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City.

The Waterfront of the City

Perhaps the most widely recognized image of Liverpool is the Pier Head. Here are the iconic three graces of Liverpool: the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building. These buildings dominate the port area and stand as a proof of the city's opulence in the last two centuries. They create one of the most impressive coastal skylines in the world. The status of the Liverpool harbor as a historical site is rated by the Liverpool Docks project, which is a colossal development of skyscrapers. It is expected to be the largest cluster of tall modern buildings in Europe. The project will take place despite the concerns of UNESCO and the skyline of Liverpool will be changed forever. For example, the widely recognized Princes Half tide Dock will be demolished and the 50 storey Shanghai Tower will take its place.

The Beating Heart of the City

Whatever you want to do in Liverpool, you should not miss the chance to see the city's commercial district and the cultural quarter. Here you can see many decorated civic buildings like the Georgian masterpiece – Liverpool Town Hall. Other noted edifices are the Tower Buildings, Albion House, Oriel Chambers and many, many more. There are several streets lined with dozens of listed buildings: Victoria Street, Castle Street, Dale Street, and Old Hall Street. The Cultural Quarter is the area around William Brown Street. The Liverpuldians proudly compare the district's layout to a Roman Forum. The remarkable buildings here include the neo-classical St George's Hall, William Brown Library, Walker Art Gallery, Picton Reading Rooms and World Museum Liverpool. Here are also the Wellington's Column and the Steble Fountain. The city center is not the only place to see unique buildings. In Liverpool, even the local Chinatown is unbelievably impressive – it has the largest gateway outside of China!

Two Unusual Places of Worship

Liverpool has two Cathedrals. They have two things in common: they have been built in the 20th century and they are both unique in their own way. The Anglican Cathedral is a gigantic Gothic church with a central tower that dominates the landscape around it. It is the largest Cathedral in the UK and the fifth largest in the world. Everything about this place of worship is gigantic – the nave, the bells, the organ. On the other hand, the Roman Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral is a striking example of revolutionary design. The building looks more like a giant wigwam made of concrete and stainless steel than anything closely resembling a Catholic church building.

The Nightlife in Liverpool

While the experts of cleaning in Liverpool take care of the hygiene in your hotel room, you will be having a good time in the city center, exploring the countless listed buildings, museums and other landmarks. However, you will need to save your strength for the nightlife in the city. Many authority sources (as TripAdvisor) recommend Liverpool as the UK city with the best nightlife. The number of night bars, nightclubs, live music venues and pubs is astonishing. The most popular entertainment sites in the city include:

  • Alma de Cuba
  • Blue Angel
  • Bumper
  • Chibuku
  • Heebie Jeebies
  • Korova
  • The Krazyhouse
  • The Magnet
  • Nation
  • Popworld

There are many other destinations. Here is also the legendary Cavern Club, where the Beatles started the Beatlemania. Most of the popular establishments in the city can be found around the Concert Square, St. Peter's Square, and the adjoining streets. Liverpool is also famous for its large LGBT community, making it the European equivalent of San Francisco. It has its own official gay quarter.

What You Actually Do in Liverpool – Football!

That's right, if there's one thing about Liverpool that makes it the most successful city in the UK, that's football. The Pool is home to Everton FC and Liverpool FC Collectively, the two clubs have 5 European Cup titles, 1 European Cup Winners' Cup title, 3 UEFA Cup titles, not to mention the countless domestic titles, awards and honors. The city has staged top division football every single season since 1888, when the Football League was formed. The Merseyside Derby is often regarded as a classic example of a friendly rivalry. Many families in the city contain supporters of both clubs. Liverpool and Everton produced some of the most talented and celebrated players in history: Kenny Dalglish, Dixie content / contributors-and-job-applicants / Dean, Alan Hansen, Alan Ball, Kevin Keegan, Gary Lineker, Ian Rush, Neville Southall, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and many other legends.

Whether you are the owner of a large courier company or a small door-to-door courier, you most likely have a fleet of trucks with a number of drivers. If you transport goods over long distances you will need to educate your drivers on what is needed for long distance traveling. That means that you will have to prepare them and the truck before they leave to the destination.

Before you release the truck on the road ensure that you check all the vitamins of the truck and the trailer. It is wise to do a mini service or check to ensure that all the parts of the truck and trailer are functioning properly. Things to check include the tire pressure, wheel alignment, the engine and to listen for any unusual sounds. If there are any unusual sounds while the ignition is turned on, you will need to have it checked out by a professional truck mechanic.

You should not ignore any strange sounds coming from your truck before you set out on a long journey. This may be a faulty or damaged truck or trailer part that needs to be replaced or repaired. If you do replace it, ensure that you invest in quality truck parts that will be reliable throughout your journey. Replacing truck and trailer parts with substandard ones could lead to more damage to the vehicle. Also do an oil service and check the water. Check that the trailer is properly hooked onto the truck and that all the lights such as the brake lights and reverse lights are functioning properly.

Prepare your truck driver before the journey too. Train them on the basics of truck mechanics such as what the lights on the dashboard indicate and what could be wrong when they flash. Train them on the truck and trailer parts that they need to identify in case it breaks down so that they can inform the mechanical of what the cause could be. They should be able to identify the truck axle and other major truck engine parts. Give your driver an emergency number to contact if something goes wrong. It must a number that is accessible 24 hours. Remind the driver to pull over at regular intervals so that he does not get exhausted and to fill up the tank to ensure that he does not run out of fuel.

Ensure that on the next journey the truck driver, the truck and the trailer all need to be in good shape before venturing long distances.

As you know that a passport is a legal travel document which is required every time when someone leaves or returns to the country, you should understand the fact how important it can be and what essential roles it can play in your life if you already have one . You can not travel without this crucial piece of document in your wallet or bag. What if you have never applied for one and are in a great need of acquiring the same out of the blue? There are certain things in life which are inevitable and they take place in life when they are least expected. So, you are in an urgent need of having a passport but not aware about various ways to be considered for applying for a new passport.

We can understand that you would find yourself in a confused state of mind when it comes to applying for a passport for the first time ever. It's perfectly normal to feel that way as you have to go through a lot prior to getting a travel document which is filling in various forms and submitting all the relevant documents. A passport can be considered as a proof of residency provided by the government of the country you are a citizen of.

Are you really applying for the first time?

If you have never applied for the travel document before, you would have to have personal proof of identification ready available which may have to be produced at the passport office. This can be your driver's license or a photo ID issued by the state. Moreover, it is necessary to have a copy of your birth certificate just to make sure that you really are a citizen of the United States. If you have misplaced a copy of your birth certificate or not been able to find one at home, you must get one before going through the process of applying for a passport . You should not act recklessly or display a casual attitude in obtaining a birth certificate as it is the most critical document required that enables you to get a passport fast.

You have to fill in a DS-11 form which you can download from the government website. After the form has been completed, you have to submit the same for further processing.

If you already have a passport and it's expired a few months ago, what you need is the renewal passport service. All you have to do is send the duly filled DS-82 form along with your expired legal travel document. Make sure that you also send two passport-sized photographs and a check as well in order to pay the government a nominal fee.

7 Kinds of Interesting Travellers

One thing that I have found is that when traveling, there will be people from all walks of life. Rich people, poor people, smart people, stupid people, funny people, sad people, inspiring people, ridiculous people, helpless people and the list goes on.

1. The First Time Traveler

The first time traveler is usually excited and sometimes a little apprehensive. Yet they have enthusiasm for discovery and look for opportunities to learn. Everything is exciting and new. However there could be the first time traveler who is expecting everything to be like it is at home and leave the tour disappointed. Let all the new people discover that the world is different and they can be enjoyed.

2. The Travel Guru

The travel guru knows it all. They read everything that they can prior to the tour and then they like to impress you with their knowledge and sometimes they speak the native language. They will provide advice on all things and there will be times that you wished you had someone else to talk to. However, you can still learn something from him / her.

3. The Adventure Man / Woman

The adventure man / woman personifies adventure. They dress for the adventure occasion and even act the part. Not like other travelers who simply enjoy adventure. Great people to be with during adventures but not necessarily the best dinner companion.

4. The Party Animal

The party animal prefers to start the day with brunch. He / she finds it difficult to get up early in the morning due to the party during the previous evening. Great people but will slow down serious travelers.

5. The Warring Couple

The warring couple are on the tour because one of them wanted to go. During the tour this fact will come out and there will be unsavoury scenes. Find a place some distance away and continue to enjoy your holiday.

6. The High Spending Traveler

The high spending traveler expects to get whatever he / she wants in any place. Can be much fun if they are generous but sometimes difficult to be with.

7. The Normal Traveler

Yes there are many normal travelers out there. They are like you and me enjoying the company of others and being a friend when it is needed. Easy to get along with and has a great sense of humor.

In summary, whatever the kind of traveler you meet, do not judge too harshly. Everyone must have their day but some want it more often. Have fun and try to find the normal traveler and all will be well.
